Wainui Beach School Kapa Haka Festival.

                                                      Kapa Haka Festival

Early in the morning I ran into school and quickly got changed into my dress, after that I rushed to the  hall to get my inkey moko on.  Koka Sue was ready and placed some ink on my face  then I rushed over to the lipstick line.  The line was very big. I was  so excited to go on stage and do my performance.

I hopped on the  big green bus, with a big smile on my face. I sat next  to Lila, Aria and Kyla Rose were sitting in front like a four but facing us. It was very busy on the bus and there were a lot of singing.  I leaped of the bus with a little bit of butterflies inside me.  We had a quick  run through before we got on stage. My mum and dad were going to watch me and they kept my brother off kindy because he wanted to watch me as well.

People started clapping and cheering as we walked on stage.  The kaia started. We all sang very loud. I was so proud of myself.  We kept performing. I was trying to do a nice takahia with all the rest of the group. Heaps of people were watching us and after every song they would clap so loud and  sometimes when they liked our singing they would clap. Sometimes when they enjoy it even more  they would sing with us. When we did the poi they swang together like white bits of hail falling from the sky.

When we got off the stage we put our zip jumpers back on and went and had a class photo. After that our parents took some photos of us. My mum and dad took a photo of me and my sister, Maisie, because we couldn't find Zebedee, but then we finally found him and had another photo.

It was such an exciting day. We hopped back in the bus. On the way back it was so loud and people were screaming very loud, I wanted them to stop. We got back to school and ate our lunch. I was very tired after the big day. I hope you enjoyed my blog.

Wainui Beach School Craft Fair...

 Wainui Beach School Craft Fair...

My family and I hopped in the car and travelled to Wainui Beach School. The show was on as I walked through the gates to the craft fair. I  took a look and I was overwhelmed with how many people were there.  There were lots.

I kept walking and first I bought a small card that has five red circles on it, that people click for all the  rides ( bouncy castles ) you want to go on.  My sister and I walked over to the big bright red, black and orange obstacle bouncy castle.  We bounced on with a leap. After that I helped my mum click the little kids' cards.  It was lots of fun.

Dinner time at last

I ran to the bag that my dad was carrying on his back and said "Dad can I please have my money to get dinner?" He said "yea grab it". I rushed over into the line for the sausage sizzles. After I got my sausage sizzle I went over to the coke van and got some very fizzy coke.  I sat down and ate my kai with my family.

Bubbles

I waited in line for the bubbles, "Finally it is my turn" I said to myself . The lady helped me into a big round see-through bubble. I banged into my brother with a swish, we both went backwards. It was so fun in the bubbles but it was so hot in there to that I could hardly hold onto the handles.  Because it was so cool I had five more goes in the bubbles.  I got banged all the way over upside down and I couldn't get up so I freaked out a little. But I swung my body and I finally came over.

Cow Pat Bingo

Every year at the craft fair there is a cow that comes and we play a game using the cow. We make squares on our field for the cow to go on and you can pat the cow.  But whatever square the cow poos on that person gets there hundred dollars.  Well this years winner was no one because no one bought the square so the money goes to our school.

I was very sleepy and tried after all those rides. Then we travelled home and went to bed. That was a very fun night. My school thinks that we earnt around 15 thousand dollars, well that's a lot.

Inter School Athletics

                                  Inter School Athletics Day!

Bang The two pieces of wood crashed together in a thump, we speed off in a flash. I didn't know who would win? It was a hot and sunny day. I just had my first race and came second. I lined up with the other year four girls and got ready to race. I felt nervous. The man said "ready set" and banged the pieces of wood together.  It was very loud. I raced off with all of the rest of the year four girls. I found out that I came fourth. I was so happy.  My mum was watching and so was my auntie. We set off to long jump.

                                           Long jump

The lady gave me a thumbs up ( that means ready)  I ran very fast and leaped over the soft sand and landed perfectly, But it was a no jump! My foot was over the line. I was a little bit disappointed. I had one more jump but I could not get further than the top there. They were very good leapers.  I had a yummy snack and then travelled to the flying ball through.

                                          Ball Through

I picked up the hard cricket ball and threw the ball over the grass and it landed with a thump. I don't know how far I threw but I didn't make the top three. I felt proud of myself. I had a big break and got a icey jucy ice block and a hot sausage sizzle. I was quite nervous for my relays next.  I like ball through but relays are my favorite.

Relay people

Tilly,

Charlotte,

Betsy (me),

Brooke.

Realise.

We got into our batin places and ran. Tilly then pasted it to Brooke, Brooke then pasted it to me and I then ran and pasted it to Charlotte and Charlotte then finished the race. We won and got into the finals and did it again. I was really tired. We came second in the finals. We travelled back to school and did some art. That was a fun day I said to myself.

( If you dont no what a battin is, A battin is a long metal tube ish thing that you pass to the next person in relays. A battin is around as big as your two hands together going upwards).
